Integrations are 80% of the work, and 100% of the value

A pretty interface on top of disconnected systems is just lipstick. The real work is downstream.

TL;DR

When tools don't talk, your team becomes the integration. Every paste, copy, and "I'll send that over" is a hidden full-time job.

When founders look at their software, they see screens. When we look at it, we see seams — the places where one tool ends and the next one starts. The seams are where the real work happens, and where the real cost lives.

The 80% nobody quotes for

Building a beautiful screen is the part of the work that feels like progress. It's also the part that takes 20% of the effort. The other 80% is the unsexy plumbing: making sure that when a deal closes in the CRM, the contract drafts itself, the invoice gets queued, the project board gets the kickoff card, and the right person gets a Slack message.

Most agencies quote the 20%. Most clients are surprised when the 80% becomes their problem after launch.

Why integrations are the real product

Your team interacts with software a few times a day. They interact with the gaps between software constantly. "Did anyone update the spreadsheet?" "Wait, that should have synced." "I need to copy this over again." Every one of those is an integration that wasn't built.

When the integrations are right, the screens almost don't matter. The system runs in the background and nobody thinks about it. That's the point.

How we scope it honestly

We tell clients up front: the dashboard you're picturing is two weeks. The integrations behind it are six. If you skip the second part, you'll spend the next year doing manually what we could have automated. Build the plumbing first, then put the pretty kitchen on top.
